COMENIUS MOMENTS : Greek students sharing personal benefits from the project

            At school , we are taught ancient tragedy , either original or translated .

It was the first time , that I searched , by myself ( under mrs Kardoulaki - Samouil guidance ) in a protoype ancient tragedy ( '' Medea'' Euripides ) and found passion and cruel contradictions coming from the past , reminding me of present.

That enlightened me to choose theoritical studies at school .

‘’ Στο σχολείο , διδασκόμαστε αρχαία τραγωδία , είτε από το πρωτότυπο , είτε από  μετάφραση , ήταν , όμως η πρώτη φορά , που μόνη μου έψαξα σε κλασική έκδοση αρχαίας τραγωδίας ( σε βιβλίο , που μας δάνεισε η κ. Καρδουλάκη ) και συνειδητοποίησα την ένταση και τις σκληρές συγκρούσεις , που υπάρχουν ανάμεσα στους ήρωες . Εγώ μελέτησα την Μήδεια , του Ευριπίδη . Μετά από αυτή μου την έρευνα , επέλεξα Θεωρητική κατεύθυνση . ‘’

I am Albanian . My parents are hard workers and me work part time as a cosmetics dealer . I would never dream , in my most optimistic dreams , that I could visit a foreign country .My trip to Istanbul , with all my expenses paid by the project was a dream !! During our visit , I didn't sleep ( only for a few hours ) because , I wanted to enjoy any moment of it . I have gained new friends , the Turkish students , with whom I have constant communication through Facebook .

‘’ Είμαι Αλβανίδα , οι γονείς μου εργάζονται σε διάφορες δουλειές , όπως κι εγώ , σαν dealer καλλυντικών  . Δεν υπήρχε περίπτωση να πάω ταξίδι .Το ταξίδι αυτό για μένα ήταν τόσο μοναδικό που δεν ξέρω τι άλλο να πω .Δεν κοιμόμουν παρά ελάχιστα , γιατί ήθελα να δω και να ζήσω όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερα . Έκανα φίλες τις Τουρκοπούλες από το σχολείο , και μιλάμε στο Facebook .’’

I had a dream : to have the holy communion at the Patriarchate .I had been preparing myself  , days before our trip to Istanbul .

On Sunday , November 20th 2011 , all our Greek Comenius team attended the Holy ceremony at Saint George church at the Patriarchate .I am , rather ,timid , so when holy communion started I went there with my teacher .I had a life experience !!

'' Όνειρό μου ήταν να μεταλάβω στο Πατριαρχείο . Είχα προετοιμαστεί , νηστεύοντας . Το πρωί της Κυριακής 20 Νοεμβρίου 2011 , είμαστε όλη η  ομάδα Comenius στον Άγιο Γεώργιο , στο Πατριαρχείο . Είχε πολύ κόσμο . Πρόσεξα ότι οι Ρωσίδες , που ήταν εκεί , φορούσαν μαντίλια στο κεφάλι !! όταν ήλθε η ώρα της Θείας Κοινωνίας , ντράπηκα !! πώς θα έφευγα από την ομάδα μας ;;                                 η κ. Καρδουλάκη έπιασε το βλέμμα μου , με ρώτησε με τα μάτια : ‘’ τι έπαθες ;’’ , της εξήγησα με νοήματα και τότε με πήρε από το χέρι και πήγαμε και κοινώνησα .                                                      Θα το θυμάμαι σ’ όλη μου τη ζωή !! ‘’

  I am Albanian .Our ecomomic situation is rather difficult .
The project covering us all our expenses has given me the chance to make this fabulous trip .
We became friends with Turkish girls : we sang , danced , laughed together !! we had a great time !!

         ‘’ Είμαι Αλβανίδα . Η οικονομική μας κατάσταση είναι μέτρια , αν δεν ήταν το πρόγραμμα , που μας έδινε τα πάντα ( λεωφορείο , φαγητό , ξενοδοχείο και χαρτζιλίκι ) δεν θα μπορούσα να πάω στην Κωνσταντινούπολη με το project, αν και το ήθελα τόσο πολύ .
Ευτυχώς το Comenius project κάλυπτε όλα μας τα έξοδα και πήγα !!
Χορέψαμε με τα κορίτσια από το Τούρκικο σχολείο , φάγαμε μαζί , κουβεντιάσαμε .

 Ήταν καταπληκτικά !! ‘’

I am taking piano and singing lessons , since primary school and I love it !! Nevertheless , I could never imagine that , under mrs Dodou guidance , I could sing and play the piano in front of an audience , so cheerful and supportive at the Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi auditorium . They made me express so beautiful feelings , that I didn't know ,I had !!

‘’Κάνω αρμόνιο και τραγούδι από την 5^η Δημοτικού , μου αρέσει πάρα πολύ .

Δεν φανταζόμουν ,όμως ότι θα τα κατάφερνα να τραγουδήσω έτσι στο αμφιθέατρο του Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi . Αν δεν ήταν η κυρία Ντόντου , που πίστεψε σε μένα , δεν θα το έκανα ποτέ !! Με έκανε να εκφράσω με την φωνή μου , συναισθήματα , που δεν ήξερα πως είχα , και είδα στις αντιδράσεις των παιδιών , και των δικών μας και των Τούρκων , ότι τα ένοιωσαν κι εκείνοι ‘’

          Before our trip to Istanbul , my biggest problem was how to contact my parents .I shared the same problem with my closest friends , also participating at the Comenius project. Mobile phone wasn't an option , because of high price phone calls . Our teacher ,mrs Kardoulaki - Samouil informed us about Skype  UNLIMITED PHONE CALLS TO GREECE ..Paying a logical price , we phoned our parents and friends in Greece through Skype , and we had a double benefit , both economical and mental ( the computer use ) .I could never imgaine that ,I used my lap top for phones !!

  ‘’ Ένα πρόβλημα , που με απασχολούσε , πριν φύγουμε για Κωνσταντινούπολη , ήταν πώς θα επικοινωνούσα με τους γονείς μου , στο Αρμένιο .

Το ίδιο πρόβλημα είχαν και οι φίλες μου .Κινητό αποκλειόταν , γιατί κόστιζε πολύ .

Η κ. Καρδουλάκη μας ενημέρωσε για την χρήση του Skype .Έτσι τηλεφωνούσαμε μέσω Skype στους γονείς μας και στους φίλους μας στο Αρμένιο ,έχοντας πληρώσει για UNLIMITED PHONE CALLS TO GREECE. Δεν το φανταζόμουν ,ότι θα χρησιμοποιούσα το laptop μου για τηλέφωνα !! ‘’

Going on vacation , my mother was pushing me to speak English .But I didn't feel like doing that , I thought that this was pointless !!

Being in Istanbul ,during our Comenius visit , I realized how gifted I felt , being able to communicate with Gamze , την Asena ,τον Atakan , τον Basharan .

It was great !!

‘’ Όποτε πηγαίναμε  για διακοπές , η μητέρα μου με ζάλιζε : ‘’ μίλα παιδάκι μου , Αγγλικά ‘’ .  Γιατί να μιλήσω ,όμως ; στο φροντιστήριο μόνιμα βαριόμουν , όπως και στο σχολείο .

 Όμως στην Κωνσταντινούπολη κατάλαβα τι τύχη είναι να μιλάς Αγγλικά .Συνειδητοποίησα , πως μιλούσα Αγγλκά !!

Μιλούσαμε με την Gamze , την Asena ,τον Atakan , τον Basharan !! ήταν τέλεια !!!’’

Antibullying day festivities in Armenio high school

At Armenio high school auditorium, there has been a very successful  presentation against '' bullying at schools '' .Mrs Eva Moulatzikou , mr Dimitrios Sakellariou and mrs Kardoulaki - Samouil presented power point presentation and You tube videos regarding bullying at schools . Show lasted for two hours and all school students enjoyed and taught at the same time presentation and films .A discussion has been held regarding bullying , between students and teachers in order to apply solutions in potential bullying cases .

European language label

Armenio high school is very happy to announce that we have been awarded with the European language label 2011 , by the Greek department of the European Union.
The team was the successful Comenius team : mrs Kardoulaki - Samouil and B' senior high school students .
The European Language Label is an award for innovative language-learning projects. It rewards creative ways to improve the quality of language teaching, motivate learners and make the best of available resources .

Heavy snow fall !! All snow covered !!

School out , because of heavy snow .

It's heavily snowing in Armenio today !! Actually , not only in Armenio ,but in whole Thessaly !!
Schools are out today , because roads are getting dangerous !!
In fact school yard is a very dangerous place ,when you have to do with young people , fooling around with snowballs !!

Who could say , that we are sad ? Nobody !!
We are enjoying both : school and vacation ,according to situations !!!
