Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi is in Bayrampaşa in Istanbul. We present a general state secondary school that offers an education in Maths , Physics, Geometry, Chemistry, Turkish Literature, English, German, Sport, Art etc. The students have to pass an exam and get a high degree to study at our school. Their success at university exams is perfect. Almost all of our students can pass the university entrance exams and go to the different universities in Turkey.
The families of the students have mostly average income level. Bayrampaşa is a district where there are lots of migrants from different parts of Turkey. Although Bayrampaşa isn't the best region of Istanbul, we aren't in a disadvantaged area. We have no problems of transportation, we can go everywhere easily.
Our pupils are well-motivated and high-achieving. It is a central policy in our school that pupils must develop good knowledge of foreign languages in order to increase their chances of finding good jobs in the future and to see themselves in better positions in tomorrow's Europe. Most of our pupils don't have the opportunity to go abroad, so we feel it is very important for them to enhance lifelong learning skills by participating in this project. Also it is important for our pupils to develop attitudes of tolerance through an understanding of European diversity and community.
