We are all excited !! The day ,we have been waiting for months has , finally ,arrived .
We are leaving school , and all Armenio high school students and teachers hug and kiss us good bye .
Parents are waiting outside school doors smiling and giving all of us their best wishes !!
Here we go !!
We arrive at Istanbul , late in the afternoon .It's cold and windy !! but we don't mind !!
Our Turkish partners are waiting for us there for our first meeting.
They had been chatting on the Net before and they were really happy when they saw each other!

We arE at Istanbul !! Hotel Eresin Taksim 4*.
Our Turkish partners come for a second meeting .
We leave , two teams together , at 20.00 to have dinner .
At the restaurant , we ( Turkish and Greek partners ) are in such a good mood , that we start dancing , when a Greek band ,being there by chance , starts to sing Greek folk songs !!
Then , we are going all together for a walk to the magnficent Istklal Caddesi.
Our students stare the exquisite restored buildings and enjoy lights and happy crowds !!
It's cold and windy , but who cares !! Mr Skoufas , our head teacher guides us to secret miracles of Istiklal street. We return at the hotel exhausted but happy !!

Early wake up , because we want to attend the mess at the Saint George Christian Orthodox Church at the Patriarchate .
The view of Istanbul was astonishing .
During the afternoon , after having lunch , Greek and Turkish team together , the Greek team went at the hotel conference room to rehearse dances and songs , being prepared for the next day !!

Early wake up ,because we have to be at Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi at 09.30 .
We manage to arrive at Bayrampasa on time .
The two teams met in Suat Terimer High School in the morning.
Both teams went up to the Suat Terimer conference hall to watch the programme prepared by the teachers and the students
The Programme was started by Mrs. İldeniz Saral.
After she made a welcome speech, everybody sang the Greek and Turkish national anthems together.
Next, the school principals, Mr. Şahin and Mr.Skoufas, made their speechs.
Then, the students watched power point presentations about M.Kemal Atatürk, Turkey, İstanbul and Suat Terimer Anatolian High School.
A student from Suat Terimer read a poem (in English) called 'I'm listening to İstanbul my eyes closed' ...
Then mrs.Kyriaki Samouil made a speech and the Greek students introduced themselves one by one.
Each school students sang folk songs with their traditional musical instruments .And lastly ,they performed
their dance show. They were all great !!!
First it was : Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi :The Suat Terimer school chorus were trained by the Music teacher Şengül Çelik and the folk dance team was trained by Cemile Durak..
and then it was : Armenio high school trained by mrs Dodou ( who sang , as well ).
After the programme, they all went downstairs to eat the food that the Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi students' parents had prepared .
On the first day, both the students and the teachers were very excited and happy to meet each other !!
It was a splendid day !!!

at the Suat Terimer auditorium only the two teams were met and presented the project draft works .
Mrs Samouil and mrs Saral coordinated the discussion between the two teams.
Power Point presentation was done by mrs Saral students .
Then a volley match between girls teams took place , and the Suat Terimer team was the winner ( 2 - 1 )!!

Day started with a football game between boys teams from Armenio high and Suat Terimer at a 6 x 6 football stadium.Armenio high students won the game .
Then all of us returned at Suat Terimer auditorium and activities get started :
At first a team of young ladies , students of Suat Terimer painted in front of us whirling dervishes .
Then a Suat Terimer band sang beautiful songs creating a very warm atmosphere !!
Greek songs and Greek danses followed , by Armenio high students .
and then everybody was on stage dancing !!!
It was an awosome experience !!
Everybody was so cheerful and happy !!
Afterwards , there was some food again !!! Suat Terimer parents have preapred traditional recipies from six regions of Turkey !!
Food was delicious !! On the other these tradionatiol yummy food was served by Suat Terimer students dressed in tradional clothing from these areas !! It was an one of a kind experience !! A bright idea !!
But the day was still young !!
13.30 p.m. we are leaving school for a Bosporus cruise ( Armenio high hosted by Suat Terimer ).
All students had become friends , they were chatting in English all together like pigeons in a nest !!
After the Bosporus cruise Armenio high was hosted by Suat Terimer Anadolu Lisesi at a well appointed restaurant , where we had the time to make a fist schedule of the upcoming Suat Terimer visit at Armenio .

Sightseeing day : Students and teachers from both schools visited : Blue Mosque
Students were so happy to be together , as a matter of fact they had a chance to express their
feelings in English , realizing that they can use it properly .

Armenio High school students and teachers upon arrival have brought to Suat Terimer very meaningful presents : two olive trees! Olive tree , the tree of reconciliation and award at the ancient Olympic games !!
Suat Terimer students planted the trees in the school garden.
These two trees symbolize the two countries :Turkey and Greece!
Peace and friendship between these countries will develop as the trees grow up

A last meeting between two teams is held at the hotel .Trip back to Armenio . Arrival at Armenio early in the afternoon , end of the awsome visit at Istanbul ,caring in our hearts the sweetest feelings .
